Myopia Management

Patients with high myopia (severe nearsightedness) are at a greater risk of developing serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and retinal detachments. The elongated shape of a highly myopic eye places additional stress on the retina and optic nerve, making regular comprehensive eye examinations essential for early detection and treatment.

Stellest

Stellest is an exciting FDA approved program designed to slow down the progression of your child’s nearsightedness. This is the only FDA approved treatment that involves glasses in the US for myopia control. These lenses have been designed with an exclusive and pioneering technology called HALT, which stands for Highly Aspherical Lenslet Target. The HALT technology is made of a constellation of 1,021 invisible lenslets. This constellation creates a volume of myopic defocus, sending a signal to slow eye elongation and myopia progression.

Are Stellest lenses right for my child?

After an exam is performed by an eye care practitioner, Stellest lenses should be recommended to children who:

  • Are starting to get Myopia

  • Are already Myopic

  • Have progressing Myopia

Results are from a prospective, randomized, double-masked, multicenter U.S clinical trial in myopic children aged 6-12 years at initiation of treatment.

Stellest will not give permanently corrected vision and cannot guarantee that your child’s prescription will not change as they grow. Encourage your child to wear their Stellest spectacle lenses consistently. It is recommended that your child wears the lenses for a minimum 10 hours per day for at least 6 days per week. This level of consistency slowed myopia progression by 71% on average.

MiboFlo

MiBoFlo is a relaxing, non-invasive thermal treatment for Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) that provides immediate relief and promotes long-term ocular surface health. It works by heating up the clogged oil within the glands and slowly expressing them throughout the treatment.

How the Treatment Works

  • Controlled Heat: The device applies consistent, therapeutic heat to the outer eyelid, which penetrates deep into the tissue to liquefy hardened lipids in the meibomian glands

  • Gentle Massage: A handpiece provides a soothing massage over the eyelids, helping mobilize the liquefied oils and improve tear film stability

  • Preparation: Ultrasound gel is applied to the eyelids to enhance heat transfer and help glide the handpiece.

  • Duration and Frequency: Each session typically lasts 8 minutes per eye, and a series of 4 sessions spaced about two weeks apart is recommended for optimal results
